1 McKee’s Eastdew Frankfurter. Typy youngster of just over four months. Liked his shape and balance for such a tender age. Has good bone and substance but is not overdone in anyway. Pleasing head with a good eye and expression. Well made front assembly, good width of quarters and a well shaped tail. Still a little loose on the move both fore and aft.
2 Mckee’s Eastdew Chipolata. See he is the sibling of the winner and has a very similar outlook to his brother. Balanced head with good width of skull for his age. Pleasing reach of neck set in well placed shoulders. Shapely body and well developed hindquarters. Not as confident on the move as the winner.
3 Edward’s Nigabee Exhibitionist at Bearstone.

1 Druggan’s Balladoole Black Tie. Promising puppy. Strongly built and of good size and balance but is free from any sign of coarseness. Quality head, clean cut and a kind expression. Scores in neck and shoulders, stands on good legs and feet, well ribbed and a level topline that he holds on the move. Correct tailset with a well shaped tail that he carries well. Nicely rounded quarters. Moved well on a good stride, BPD.
2 Hopkinson’s Bellamar Mikado Rocheby. Just six months but is so well balanced for his age and he flows from head to tail. Liked his head, lovely eye colour and a soft expression. Strong neck and a good layback of shoulder. Good depth of chest with plenty of heartroom. Short coupled body and a good width of hindquarters along with the best of tails. Sound on the move.
3 Smith’s Flyenpyg Jurgen Chopp.

Not the easiest class to judge as there was quite a variation in size and type on the day.
1 Flyenpyg Jurgen Chopp. Third in the competitive MP class. Youngest in the class but liked his size and his overall shape and balance. Good strength for his age with good bone and substance. Clean cut head with a pleasing eye and expression. Well developed body, firm back and a good turn of stifle. Covered the ground on a good stride.
2 Young’s Potterspiney My Sovereign. Typy youngster with a pleasing outlook. Balanced appearance and presented a good shape both stood and on the move. Well developed body with plenty of heartroom for his age. Well ribbed and a pleasing tailset and carriage. Moved well but not quite the stride of the winner.
3 Evan’s Trendlewood Long Time Comin.

1 Metcalfe’s Baileydale Rocket Man JW. Quality youngster who I liked a lot and had him in my final cut for the CC. With a little more maturity I am sure he will be soon knocking on the door for top honours. Lovely size, shape and balance. Very typical in head, good width of skull and strength of muzzle and the best of expressions. Very clean over the neck and shoulders. Best of legs and feet, level topline and a well set tail of correct shape. Sound on the move.
2 Percival’s Teazledown Mystery by Wynfaul. Good size and of pleasing overall make and shape. Has the required strength and substance but shows no sign of coarseness. Pleasing head and eye. Strong neck and a adequate layback of shoulder. Well ribbed, firm back and well developed hindquarters. Moved well but could not quite match the footfall of the first.

1 Tulloch’s Binnaig Bonnach for Tullochmohr JW. My star of the day. Took your eye as soon as he entered the ring. So typical throughout, great strength , very active and scored in the three essentials of a Labrador, head, coat and tail. His head has the required width of skull which is balanced by a good length of foreface along with a lovely eye and expression. Best of front assemblies standing on good legs and feet. Short coupled, level topline and well angulated quarters. Excellent tailset and carriage. Moved so soundly with good reach and drive, CC and with the full agreement of my co-judge BOB.
2 Johnson’s Cremino Celebrity JW. Another quality youngster who was unlucky to meet the winner on such form on the day. Liked his size, shape and very balanced outlook. Best of heads, clean cut appearance and a kind expression. Strong neck of good length set in well placed shoulders. Firm body, well ribbed, strong hindquarters and well let down hocks. Good ‘otter’ shaped tail which he carried well. Moved well on a free and easy stride.

1 Snelgrove & Priddice’s Atkeenthorne Lord Pud of Duskmeadow. Pleasing sort of overall good confirmation. Presented a typical appearance, well of for bone and substance but is not overdone in anyway. Good head, eye and expression. Clean over the neck and shoulders, shapely body and well made quarters with a good bend of stifle. Covered the ground on a pleasing stride.
2 Hampsbeck Scruples. Typy dog who presented a pleasing appearance and of good make and shape. Balanced head with a good eye and expression. Clean front, good legs and feet, firm body and a pleasing width of hindquarters with a good bend of stifle. Moved well fore and aft.

1 Tulloch’s Tullochmohr Ultimo Finale. Sturdy youngster, excellent bone and substance throughout but shows no sign of coarseness. Very well made throughout and is built on flowing lines. Typical in head with good width of skull and strength of muzzle along with a soft expression. Well made front, firm topline and strong well muscled quarters. Presented in good coat. A very sound and positive mover.
2 Young’s Potterspiney Optimist Vision. Smaller framed dog but still presents a masculine outlook and balanced appearance. Liked his head, eye and expression. Well ribbed and a level topline that he holds on the move. Firm hindquarters and a good tail shape. Could not match the positive movement of the winner.

1 Metcalfe’s Rumhill Bertie Wooster by Baileydale JW. Another good youngster from this kennel. Liked him for size and presented a very balanced appearance. Good strength of head with a very typical outlook. Best of fronts, muscular neck set in well placed shoulders, good depth of chest, well ribbed and a pleasing width of quarters. Correct tail shape and carriage. Moved well on a free and easy stride.
2 Litherland’s Oakhouse Orlover. Another of good size and is not overdone in anyway. Built on clean lines and has good bone and substance throughout. Pleasing head and eye. Clean over the neck and shoulders and stands on good legs and feet. Level topline that he holds on the move. Firm hindquarters with a good bend of stifle. Sound fore and aft.

1 Williamson’s Sharouns Inspector Gadget JW. Smart dog who is very typical throughout. Has the required substance along with that very active appearance the standard asks for. Good make and shape. Balanced head and a good eye and kind expression. Scores in neck and shoulders, excellent depth and width through his chest and ribs and has the required short strong loin. Well muscled quarters that he uses to advantage on the move. Soundest of movers with excellent reach and drive.
2 Harvey-Major’s Just The Joker in Linjor JW. Another of correct size, very well balanced and built on clean lines. Best of heads with the required width of skull and strength of muzzle. Firm body, good depth of chest with plenty of heartroom, well ribbed and well angulated hindquarters. In good coat on the day. Moved soundly on a pleasing stride but couldn’t match the positive movement of the winner.
3 Mills & Rota’s Rodstar Rocks Zero Bully at Lembas.

1 Hopkinson’s Rocheby Havana. A sound and honest dog who is so typical throughout, nothing exaggerated here. Balanced appearance with good strength and substance. Pleasing head piece with a kind eye and softest of expressions. Strong neck and a good layback of shoulder. Short coupled body, deep chested and barrel ribbed. Level topline and a correct tailset. Best of tails, lovely shape with that required ‘otter’ like appearance. Moved soundly on a good stride.
2 Harris’s Winsleywood Wellington JW. Another very well made dog of good size and a balanced outlook. Strongly built with good bone throughout but is no way cloddy in appearance. Good head, eye and expression. Well made front assembly with good width and depth of chest. Firm body, well ribbed and the best of quarters. Presented in good coat. Sound mover with pleasing side gait. To be ultra critical just preferred tail shape of the winner but a close decision on the day.
3 Rowley’s Treantagh Hot Spell.

1 Ennis-Holden’s Devonshires Yellowstone at Mariank ( IMP USA ). Soundly made with that active appearance which is such a trait of the breed. Pleasing confirmation throughout and keeps a good shape both stood and on the move. Balanced head, good width of skull and length of muzzle along with the kindest of expressions. Very clean over the neck and shoulders. Well bodied with good depth. Strong well rounded hindquarters and a pleasing bend of stifle. A sound and positive mover. Made the cut to my final four in the challenge.
2 Ellis, Ellis-Matulla & Matulla’s Dolwen Stargazer. Good size and is so well made and presents a clean and flowing outline. Best of heads, lovely dark eye and a soft expression. Pleasing reach of neck, excellent layback of shoulder with a good return of upper arm. Good body shape, short coupled with good strength of loin. Excellent tailset and carriage. Moved soundly fore and aft. Just between coats on the day.
3 Gloyn’s Thorncross High ‘N’ Mighty.

Strong class with some close decisions and some good dogs unplaced on the day.
1 Johnson’s Sh.Ch.Cremino Calabrese. Quality throughout. Impressive dog who presents such a typical outlook, just flows from head to tail. Has the strength and substance, along with quality bone, combined with that active appearance. Balanced head, clean cut and the best of expressions. Excellent front assembly, strong neck set in well placed shoulders, straight front and good depth of chest with plenty of heartroom. Lovely tail shape with that rounded appearance the standard asks for. Powerful quarters along with a good bend of stifle. Sound on the move, Res.CC.
2 Dreyfus’s Fillari Number One. He took your eye as soon as he entered the ring. Liked his size and overall balance. Had the features essential for breed type, head, coat and tail. Good head piece with the required width of skull and pleasing length of muzzle along with a good eye and expression. Very clean over the neck and shoulders and stands on good legs and feet. Short coupled body and well made hindquarters. Soundest of movers.

2 Bills Vetybonbetty Chocolate Box. Another who has kept a good shape Pleasing head, dark eye and a soft expression. Stands on good legs and fee, good depth of chest and length of rib along with nicely rounded hindquarters. Postive on the move.

1 Rose’s Rossclyde Highland Grouse at Leospring. Lovely headed dog, masculine outlook, clean cut and a kind eye and expression. Firm well muscled body, strong level topline that he keeps on the move. Excellent width of quarters. Moved well on a good stride.

1 Percival’s Ch.Wynfaul The Wizard JW. Dog of good size and excellent make and shape and has a very typical appearance throughout. Best of heads, balanced and clean cut. Scores in neck and shoulders, best of legs and feet and good width and depth of chest, short strong loin and the best of hindquarters. Good coat and moved soundly fore and aft.
