LABRADOR BITCHES
MINOR PUPPY (14)
1st BRADDON’S – TRENDLEWOOD SHAPE OF YOU
What a smashing yellow puppy this is, attending her first show and not phased by anything. Just 6 months and looked very much as a minor puppy should. Balanced, with a very clean outline, super neck and shoulder, leading in to a level topline and a correctly set tail. Well turned stifle and stands on ample bone. Head will need time to come. Moved well and showed herself to advantage. In lovely coat and condition, best bitch puppy and in agreement with my co-judge BPIS.
2nd MILLS’ - JAYBEC WINTER WISPA
Another lovely puppy, very similar in most respects to the winner and everything just right for age. Pretty head, with correct eye shape and colour, good forehand and very good topline. Quarters well developed and ribs already well sprung. Showed and moved very well.
3rd CHARLTON’S – FOXRUSH TICKLED PINK
PUPPY (12)
1st MILES’ – LLANSTINAN BERNADETTE A LOT
Well put together compact yellow, of an excellent type. In good coat and condition. Lovely kind head and expression, Good reach of neck and lay of shoulder, has plenty of rib and is short and strong over the loins. Well made quarters, well off for bone, moved out well, Another puppy I liked a lot.
2nd CASEY & JAYES’ - LAPEMA MASQUERADE AT SANDYLANDS
Upstanding quality pale yellow of lovely type, built on clean lines. Liked her head and length of muzzle, good reach of neck, correctly placed shoulders which flow into an excellent topline and well set tail. Good width to quarter, neat hocks and feet. Moved well.
3rd McLELLAN’S - SARANDEN THE RIVER
JUNIOR (10)
1st ELLIS’ – DOLWEN MORNING STAR
Workmanlike pale yellow of a decent type. Pleasing head that will need time to develop. Deep through the brisket and short and strong through the couplings. Could perhaps carry a little less weight to advantage. Not in her best jacket today.
2nd DODD’S - CARRIEGAME PRECIOUS JEWEL
Clean lined black with a good reach of neck, that flows into a firm topline, which was kept on the move. Moved soundly. Another that needs time to develop both in body and head.
3rd STOKER’S - MADGACK MORELLA
YEARLING (11)
1st MILLS’ - LEMBAS KAKAMORA
Really impressive black, presented in super condition. Liked her size and strength, but still retained a feminine outlook. In full coat and in wonderful condition. Strongly made neck, deep through the chest, well sprung ribs, excellent well muscled quarters. Moved so soundly with an easy stride on strong bone and well let down hocks. One I considered in the final challenge.
2nd EDWARDS’ – KIMBAJACK FLIRTY GERTY
Yellow, a different type to the winner but she is well put together. Balanced, with a well ribbed back, and super topline. Decent head and expression. Has a good length of leg to body ratio, stands on ample bone, moved and showed well. Not carrying the coat and condition of the winner.
3rd DAVIES & TORRENCE’S - MAXROSE DAISY BELLE
MAIDEN (10)
1st MILLS’ - JAYBEC WINTER WISPA
2nd CHARLTON’S - FOXRUSH TICKLED PINK.
Well grown 6 months old. Already quite deep and mature through the body. Good lay of shoulder, short coupled, excellent quarters and stands on sound bone with neat hocks.
3rd McKEE’S - LINJOR CLEOPATRA AT EASTDEW
NOVICE (15)
1st McLELLAN’S – WYNFAUL HAPPY NEW YEAR FOR SARANDEN
Well put together balanced yellow, feminine head. Clean outline and a level topline kept whilst on the move, Medium reach of neck leading to a well laid shoulder. Good quarters and a well set tail. Moved soundly.
2nd EDWARDS’ - KIMBAJACK FLIRTY GERTY.
3rd BEECHAM’S - BAILEYDALE RONDO
GRADUATE (21)
1st KENT’S - CHYANHAL TREVOSE OF TREWINNARD JW
Scopey black exuding breed type. Balanced all through and carrying the correct weight. Her head is feminine, with a correctly shaped and coloured eye. Strongly made neck, and a correct forehand with forelegs placed well under her brisket, well sprung ribs with plenty of heart room, short coupled and strong quarters. Moved very well, covering the ground with ease. Just needs that extra maturity to finish. I was pleased to award her the res CC, and she was later res BIS.
2nd MITCHELL’S - CALLYSWOOD CRYSTAL
Well made pale yellow, different in type to the winner, presents a pleasing overall picture. Good reach of neck, well laid shoulder. Strong across the back, deep through the brisket. Well muscled quarters which showed in her free movement, showed well.
3rd MILES’ - LLANSTINAN EVANESCENCE
POST GRADUATE (13)
1st ROWE’S - ROCHEVALE ONCE UPON A TIME
Classic yellow out of the top drawer. Such a well balanced clean outline, nothing overdone at all. Made in one piece with construction hard to fault – she cant stand wrong, with her forelegs well under her chest. Loved her feminine head and expression, just wants to please her owner. Wonderful reach of neck, well constructed forehand, super topline and body. Quarters well muscled with well defined second thigh, has excellent bone and neat hocks. In very good coat with an otter tail, moved freely with drive. My star of the day and it was my pleasure to award her the CC, her first, and in complete agreement of my co-judge Lynda Heron, BIS.
2nd RAWLINSON & BALSHAW’S - SHANORRELL SENTIMENTAL AT HALSHIMOOR
This very good yellow was shown in excellent order, in good coat and condition, a very good type of bitch. Liked her head and eye with a kind expression. Well ribbed, short coupled with good quarters, hocks and feet. Another with a good forehand and reach of neck.
3rd RICHMOND’S - BRIGGLEBANK BLISS
MID LIMIT (6)
1st HODGE’S - NAIKEN ETOILE
Well put together chocolate, in super coat with a well wrapped otter tail. Plenty of breed type but perhaps to be picky, would prefer a touch more length of leg. Scored in head and expression, especially her eye colour. Deep through the chest, and short and strong over the couplings. Well developed quarters with defined second thigh. Stands on quality bone and the best of feet.
2nd O’NEILL’S - RAMSAYVILLE TALI JW
Strongly made black of good breed type, perhaps more scopey than the first placed bitch. Very pleasing head and a good length of muzzle. Well set on neck which leads into a sloping shoulder. Well off for bone and stands on neat feet. In super coat with an otter tail, moved soundly
3rd BRADDON’S – TRENDLEWOOD SIMPLY THE BEST JW
LIMIT (9)
1st CASEY & JAYES’ - SANDYLANDS HIGH TIME
Strongly made yet feminine yellow, excellent spring of rib and depth of chest. Scores in neck and front assembly, strong, short coupled body with a firm topline and well turned stifles. Stands on very sound bone and correct feet. Moved very well - another I considered for higher honours in the challenge but not in her best jacket today and was carrying a tad too much weight for me
2nd PEGG’S – JANCET AURORA
A nice type of yellow, but sadly left all her coat at home. Nothing flashy about this one, just an honest well made Labrador. Balanced through the body, well set neck with good front assembly and good barrel ribs, short through the couplings. Was well handled and moved round the ring with purpose.
ALLEN’S - WARRINGAH’S WIRRABARA AT TIMOURON

Quality pale yellow of lovely type, built on clean lines and in good coat. Liked her head piece, so feminine. Correctly placed shoulders which flow into an excellent topline and well set tail. Good width to well muscled quarters, neat hocks and feet. Moved well – I considered her in the challenge but was carrying too much condition for me.
2nd CHAPMAN’S - DAISYPATCH TUTTI FRUTTI
Warm yellow of good overall type. Pleasing head and expression, strongly set neck, and well sprung ribs. Strongly made body and stands on ample bone with neat hocks and feet. Moved well.
