Results of the Cotswold and Wyevern Labrador Retriever Club Novice working test held on Saturday 9th May 2015 at Batsford by the kind permission of Lord and Lady Dulverton
JUDGES:
Kate Smith, Killey Pennell and Clare Baker
1st Marvelous Mossey handled by David Ross
2nd Wyanet Tala Kol handled by Amanda Griffith
3d December Bliss handled by Karen Twinning
4th Bittenham Persimon handled by Jane McHugh
CoM Studebaker Allegro of Millerise handled by Janice Miller
CoM Birdbrook Vixen handled by Ellena Nunneley
A cold and windy start, followed by a sharp shower, then luckily the sun came out to dry us all out. To start we held 3 tests at the top of the hill including a mark and a blind in grassy field, a mark on the bank the other side of a pond and a mark over a jump. After a pit-stop for coffee we then held a further 3 tests closer to the cars including a hunting test in a small woody area to pick 2, a 2 dog walk up with a mark and then a double mark consisting of one in cover crop up the hill and one on a track lower down. There was a run off for 2nd, 3rd and 4th which was a long mark just over the low brow of a hill in long grass. 1st place went to David Ross with his pale yellow dog Marvelous Mossey, I understand that this was their first proper working test so well done!
Many Thanks to the host, the keeper Mr Matthew Farmer, underkeeper James for building a jump for me (sorry I don’t know his surname), the judges and especially to all the helpers!!
Thanks to Skinners Pet Foods also for their generous sponsorship.
